At Foundations Family Medicine, we believe nutrition is the cornerstone of health and an essential tool for any medical challenge. Through compassionate, patient-centered guidance, Kelsey with Nutrition by Kelsey helps individuals discover how nourishing food choices can support their unique health goals, address underlying health issues, and just feel better! If you have been told you have health issues that nutrition changes can improve (hint: all of them) or have tried to change eating habits but need more support, we encourage you to meet with us to talk about how we can help. Our goal is to foster health from within by meeting patients where they are and guiding them toward balanced, achievable change.

                                             What this looks like:

  • Meet with Kelsey to explore and define your health goals, nutrition challenges, barriers and motivation to change.

  • Explore and understand a nutritional analysis from your food journal and, if desired, customized meal plans with detailed macros/micro goals based on your needs.

  • Based on your individual goals, Kelsey will create a comprehensive and individualized health and nutrition plan, with frequent check-ins to support adherence to goals, encourage motivation, and flexibility to adapt as needed.

  • In collaboration with Dr. Jessie, Kelsey is able to take your care even further utilizing additional resources and support in the form of functional labs, biomarker analysis, supplements and more.

  • Kelsey also collaborates with any healthcare professional to support current treatment plan adherence and carry out any nutrition specific goals. Surround yourself with a team of people with your health in mind!

About Kelsey Martin, MS, CNS, LDN

Kelsey Martin is an American Nutrition Association, BCNS  board-certified CNS (Certified Nutrition Specialist) and LDN (Licensed Dietician Nutritionist) with a master's degree in clinical nutrition from Sonoran University. Kelsey believes in an individualized approach to care, working with the many 'puzzle pieces' to make connections and best support specific needs. She believes in direct links from nutrition imbalances to many health related symptoms and focuses on positive nutrition and lifestyle choices that are already implemented to build toward progress and continued success. She is trained to implement forms of MNT (Medical Nutrition Therapy) to support and improve health conditions, such as hormone imbalance, autoimmune challenges, metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, food sensitivities, food and environmental allergies, and more.
Kelsey's interest in nutrition began during her undergraduate years when she competed in cross country and track and field. She quickly realized that nutrition choices had a direct impact on performance, recovery, and energy levels, which carried over into her studies. This interest blossomed into an ongoing desire to find relationships between nutrition choices and how the body responds. She became a go-to person for family and friends with nutrition-related questions, which led her to pursue a degree in the field. As a mother of two, Kelsey's passion for nutrition has grown while addressing her children's health challenges through specialized care and lifestyle choices.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, camping, reading, sharing time with friends and family activities.  She and her husband co-own The Colorado Marathon and The Platte River Half Marathon and Relay, supporting community health through these events. Kelsey also works as a running coach, helping individuals achieve goals ranging from beginners to qualifying for the Boston Marathon and competing in the Leadville Trail 100. Additionally, she is a CNS mentor helping guide and encourage others on their journey to complete their required 1000 clinical hours and exam preparation towards licensure.
